Poke's Crew was a group of street orphans from Rotterdam, a city in the Netherlands.[1]
Description[]
Like other "crews" in Rotterdam, Poke's Crew was a kind of gang where street orphans banded together for mutual survival. They would share food and other materials collected between themselves. It was led by Poke, with Sergeant as the second-in-command. After using Bean's plan to take down the bully Achilles de Flandres, however, he acted as the "Papa" of the crew, using his strength and influence to help the crew.[1]

Poke and her crew encountered Bean, who at that time had no name. He asked to join her crew, but Poke laughed off his offer, saying he "wasn't worth a bean", giving him his name. After he told her how to take down a "bully", an older and larger orphan, she took his advice and she and her crew took down Achilles de Flandres. As his plan worked well, Poke decided to allow Bean to join her crew, as well as having Achilles as the "Papa" of the crew, who would exert his influence to bring more prosperity to the crew.[1]
Achilles, however, had a ruthless nature. He grievously injured another bully, Ulysses, tipping Bean off to his desire to kill. He later drew Poke aside before killing her and tossing her body in the Rhine. [1]
